And I'm back! I even got the same chair and I'm across from one of my favorite teachers. Looks like it might be an interesting year. We haven't had our subject meetings yet; that should prove the most interesting meeting of the day. Well I gotta go set up for our meeting... maybe I'll write later. If not, see ya tomorrow!
So I have time after all (^_^) The two new teachers seem nice. They're older than both the head teacher and I. We can draw on their experience. It still amazes me how they keep the schools running properly when they move the teachers around so often. How do you keep consistent? People go from positions of seniority to the small fish every time they move. It's got to be hard not knowing where you stand.
I guess I should write about my trip to the states. It was a very short, but busy week. We got there on Friday afternoon, checked my fiance's parents into their hotel, went grocery shopping and then retired to my house for dinner. Saturday we went to the Rodeo. We did a lot of shopping and general looking. It was the last day of the rodeo, so we got to see all of the finals. The act we saw was Brooks & Dunn, but we only stayed through three songs. It was unbelievably loud and we were tired. On Sunday we had a "family party" at the house and just relaxed and visited all day. I got to meet the new addition to my best friend's life; he was very cute. Monday we went out for lunch and went shopping. Then we met my brother and his new girlfriend for dinner. Tuesday morning I gave a short presentation at a local Junior High School that is exchanging pen pal letters with my students. They were very inquisitive. I got a couple of "You really live in Japan?"s and other odd questions. My fiance's mom put a yukata (summer kimono) on one of the students and we all took pictures... I should post one. After the school trip, we were going to go to Galveston, but we ended up going to the mall instead. That night we had dinner with friends at home. Wednesday for lunch we met my dad's lunch group and then my fiance and I went off with my friend and his parents went back to the hotel. Thursday I organized the stuff left at my parent's house into keep, sell, and throw away piles. Then we went to dinner and watched my dad's bowling team. The next day we left, though later than we thought we would. Our flight was about 4 hours late. I got home about midnight that Saturday. It was a fun but tiring trip... I'm still recovering.
