I've recently gotten in to buying ebooks. Since I live in the middle of no-English-books-land, I was ordering a couple of books every month from Amazon and waiting half of the month with nothing to read while they made their way here. I've really enjoyed the instant gratification that comes with ebooking. No more waiting two weeks to a month for books! I can have them NOW! When I want to read them! It's made my life much happier in the book department, but I have noticed that I do a lot less of the other stuff that I did when I had no books. Like play video games and watch TV and do laundry and cook... and just about everything. I get sucked in and loose the ability to budget my time properly until I finish. But I guess that's no different from reading regular books. Ah well...

My friend recently sent me some black licorice, at my request, for my Japanese friends to try. I have to say that I didn't expect such a strong negative reaction, but then again, I think I reacted the same way when I was a kid trying it for the first time. It still puzzles me how you can get used to and eventually enjoy a taste that repulsed you at first. Like coffee or spinach... though I haven't figured out Brussels sprouts yet. Maybe our taste buds adapt so that we can survive on even the nastiest things :P
The picture at the top is an old picture of my boyfriend, before he was my boyfriend, eating his first homemade burrito...which he loved, by the way.
