So I acquired a keyboard last weekend. I almost forgot how bad I am at the piano. I don't own a scrap of piano/keyboard music either. Maybe I can find some free beginner music on the internet (or steal some from my mom's house next time I go visit). The coolest thing about it is that it was free, including everything except a stand and English instructions. The latter of which I can probably find on the internet, and the former will have to wait. My boyfriend was asked to write a song for his high school team mate's wedding, so the keyboard actually came at a good time. He'd been thinking about adding it to the intro of the song, so yesterday he told me the tune he wanted and we figured it out on the keyboard. It was pretty fun. I told him that if I was playing it for the recording then it would probably sound better on the flute, but the flute would have to be recorded with a mic whereas the keyboard can be recorded directly. Though I think the flute would match the tone of the music well... In the end, the keyboard won anyway.

Tomorrow and the day after I have to go to local elementary schools. Tomorrow'll be the easier of the two days, because the classes are smaller and the teachers are more helpful than the other. On the other hand, the second day will finish earlier, so I guess they end up being pretty even. I like going to the elementry schools a couple times a year; it's a nice break from the teenagers and regular classes. At the elementary schools, I usually sing and play games most of the day. I think the kids would benefit more from a full time teacher, but I don't want that to be me. A couple of times is enough.
