Stairs!!

The construction of the stairs has begun! They'll probably finish them by the end of the week... I hope.

Today is the last day of classes for this school year. Monday is the end of the year ceremony, and Tuesday is graduation. This afternoon, we'll have the 三年送る会 (san nen okukuru kai --> the third grade farewell meeting). The second graders have been putting together a presentation for the third graders. It'll have pictures from the events they participated in and video letters from their teachers. I luckily skipped out on the video letter thing. It's pretty fun, but we'll have it in the very cold gym. All of the gaterings and ceremonies are held in the gym. In the summer and fall it's nice, but the winter and spring are tough. In other news, my breaking streak hasn't ended. First with the car, then my guitar, and yesterday I stepped on my glasses. I managed to sort of fix them, but I should probably take them to the shop to be sure. I had to wear my old glasses for a couple hours, and they gave me a bad headache. Snow? What snow? I have a spoon! It's been snowing buckets...wait, what do you say for snow? pails? Anyway it's been snowing since this morning and everyone is stuck inside, including H. All of the installations have been cancelled and we are rearranging the shop instead. Our next shop event is March 11, 12, and 13 (if you're in the neighborhood and need some appliances), so there's a lot to be done to get the shop ready. He's finally here! Aren (明蓮) Dean Matsuzawa was born July 19th. He weighed 3280 g and was 53 cm long. As you can see, he's got big, curious eyes... we're not sure what color they are... blue? grey? somewhere in between? Here's the three of us in the delivery room right after the birth. I was in labor for 34 hours; we were all exhausted...still are. He's now 9 days old, and slowly getting used to living at home. Just 4 more days and my mom will be here so I can get some rest. Hurry up grandma! I need a nap!
