I distinctly remember someone telling me that the rainy season this year was going to be very short, but it's been raining almost everyday for two weeks. I think it might be almost as much as last year when we had landslides and severe flooding. Though this year it's not constant enough to build up and be dangerous. It's kind of nice though, because it cools off and yesterday it was even a little cold. The only bad thing is that it makes it almost impossible to find a good day to wash my car. Oh well... I guess I'll have to wait until it's over.

Last weekend I did a show with my friend. She played the keyboard and I played the guitar and, in one song, the flute. I think it went pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised that my friend created a complimenting keyboard part for one of my original songs. I think the recording turned out well. After the show we were asked to play at another, but I'll be mountain climbing that day.

Speaking of which, I have to start getting ready for that...I need to do some shopping. Luckily I have a three day weekend coming up. Next Monday is Umi
no Hi (Marine Day); it's the official first day for water sports and beaches. In Suwa, we have a small event on Suwa Lake. I've never been, but I've seen it in passing before. The lake isn't the dirtiest lake I've ever seen, but it comes close. And since last year or the year before, they started a swimming event again after many years of the officials saying that the lake's water was unhealthy to swim in. They've been trying to clean it up for the last 15 or 20 years, and I guess it's improved enough for a short swim. They also have motor and rowing boat races. I suppose they have sailing too. I see sail boats out there in the summer. And it looks plenty windy enough. I'd like to try my hand at it sometime.
The picture is of the show on Sunday...aren't cell phone pictures amazing these days?
