Yesterday I got back from climbing with the kids. I have a little mountain climbing experience from when I was working at Girl Scout camp near Seattle, but it was nothing like this weekend. Sadly we couldn't see the gorgeous view from the mountain top due to the solid cloud cover. The forested areas below the tree line were beautiful though. Very rain-forestesque. The students were pretty good too. Of course there were problems, but on a whole, I was surprised at how a hundred and ten kids could trudge up a mountain, safely even, with very little injury and all come home with triumphant smiles. It was really nice. And I also applaud the teachers, who had to think of not only their own well-being, but of the kid's also. I know how exhausted we all were from climbing and I think it was definitely tiring for them to put that aside and deal with the students. Anyway, I'm pretty pooped. I did manage to finish reading the new Harry Potter book though. It came yesterday after I got home from the mountain. It was good; I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The picture is from yesterday morning as we were descending the mountain.
