I just got some pen pal letters from a Junior High in my hometown for my students. We've gone semi-digital. The kids write the letters by hand, and then the teacher scans them and e-mails them to me. I have to say it's cheaper and faster than snail mail, and you can keep a better track of which ones you sent. I think my biggest mistake doing these pen pals was not writing the names of the kid's letters I sent to be sure that they all got replies. Now I'm having to rely on the kids to tell me if they gave it to me in time to send or not. I'll do better in Round 2. I'm not sure if there will be a Round 3 or not, but I'll try. Maybe the kids can change to e-mail. I'll be going home for a visit in March, so I'll be able to hand deliver the next letters. If I get a chance to actually meet the kids, that would be fun. If not, at least I'll get a chance to have a face to face meeting with the teacher... I've met her before, but it's always nice to meet in person.

My elective students are doing their skit/puppet show today. I think I mentioned it earlier. They're doing The 3 Little Pigs for one of the younger classes. I recorded a sound track last night, so when the wolf comes out, I'll play the JAWS title music. I hope it makes the kids laugh. (^_^)

...They didn't laugh or make and other kind of noise. (T_T) I was really surprised at how quiet they were. My students were kind of disappointed. I think it might have had to do with the fact that they couldn't understand what was being said. The vice principal came to watch though, and he said he enjoyed it. After watching the video a little, we found a couple of problems that made it hard to watch, like the puppets being too small. Oh well... I guess I'll try again next year.
