Left the house at 6:30 AM and I drove the first couple of hours. We set the car's navi and assumed that it would take us on the best route... I don't know if the setting got screwed with or what, but it sent us up, over and around a mountain range. Being from Nagano you'd think we'd be fine, but before taking this very scenic route Allen had a bottle of milk and some of his pap's ramen at a rest stop. The milk and ramen we not as appetising after they came back up. But I learned that Allen really just slurps down noodles; he doesn't chew them at all. Anyway, after that lovely event, everyone was feeling queasy and we thought we might miss our first plan of the day. Luckily we made it in time (barely) to see the Geisha of Atami. They did a half hour of very nice dancing. Allen was feeling much better and got bored after about 10 minutes... pretty long for a 1 year-old, right?
We went to a Spring Market and got some extra clothes for Allen (since his clothes then smelled like...) and had lunch at a restaurant above a convenience store. It was nice and quiet and the food was really good.
After that I dragged everyone up a mountain to see a fake castle. The view from the top was really nice.
We spent the evening relaxing in the 'hotel.'
On Monday we went to the MOA Art Museum (which was also very nice... but the navi again tricked us into going on some sketchy roads) and after an Ebi Ten-shoku lunch (shrimp),
finally made our way to the Gotenba Outlet Mall for a couple hours of shopping. Very, very tired, we got home about 6ish.
I was hoping to get to see some cherry blossoms since it's much warmer there, but they were mostly finished blooming and only the mountain cherry blossoms were still in bloom.
